Woman of the Year Awards

Each year, as part of Women's History Month, Rep. Mike Thompson recognizes exceptional women across California’s Fifth Congressional District for the work they do in our community. Past recipients have been philanthropists, business leaders, educators, public servants, and more.

2017 marked the third annual Woman of the Year Awards. Thompson's office recieved a flood of nominees from across the district. After careful consideration, the following women were chosen as the 2017 Women of the Year in the Fifth Congressional District. 

• Sylvia Villa-Serrano (Contra Costa County)
• Madelene Lyon (Lake County)
• Karen Cakebread (Napa County)
• Dr. Rhonda Renfro (Solano County)
• Ronit Rubino (Sonoma County)
• Magrit Mondavi (special posthumous award presented to her daughter, Annie Roberts)

Nominations for the 2018 Woman of the Year Awards will open in February of 2018.
