Bravo to Rep. Mike Thompson and the hardworking leadership of our city and county to win another $1.8 million for the 'capstone' landscaping of the Oxbow Bypass (Thompson secures $1.8 million for bypass landscaping," March 24) I also want to thank Nordic Industries, the bypass contractor for their hard work to complete the Bypass as soon as possible.

We have waited many years for the bypass conceptual drawings to become a reality. Most have recognized that the bypass, with its dual function as flood control and park, will link the downtown core to the Oxbow. Completion of this important project not only lands a park in the center of our town, it is one of the last major improvements that is a lynchpin to our economic revitalization of Napa's downtown.

The Nordic crews are eager to finish the job and get us across the finish line. When you encounter the occasional difficulties of construction in the next few months, just remember that the "promised land" we have all been waiting for is just around the corner.

Please remember to thank the hard work of all who are making this happen.
