Thompson Invites Andrew Bidou to Presidential Address

February 24, 2017

Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) announced Chief Andrew Bidou of the Vallejo Police Department will be his guest for the President's upcoming address to a Joint Session of Congress.

"Chief Bidou has been an outstanding leader in our community," said Thompson. "He and other law enforcement officers risk their lives to keep us safe. As the President and Republican leadership continue to push policies that would undermine the safety of our first responders, I wanted to make it clear that I stand with those who put their lives on the line every day."

"I am honored to be Congressman Thompson's guest to the President's address to the joint Session of Congress," said Chief Bidou. "Congressman Thompson works so hard for the people of his district and he is a steadfast supporter of law enforcement. I stand with him in protecting second amendment rights while advocating common sense gun regulations that protect our first responders and community."

Thompson, Bidou, and other Members of Congress and law enforcement officers will be holding a press conference in advance of the President's address to discuss the dangers of deregulating silencers and mandatory concealed carry reciprocity. Further details on the press event to follow.
