Napa – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) convened a virtual Child Tax Credit Roundtable to hear from local child advocates and parents about the benefits of the credit. The Child Tax Credit was significantly expanded in the American Rescue Plan which passed the House in March.

Washington – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) voted to pass the INVEST in America Act, legislation that provides $715 billion over five years for investments in surface transportation and water infrastructure improvements across our nation. The bill includes $27 billion for California infrastructure and hundreds of millions for our district.

Mike Thompson (CA-05) announced that his request for $1 million for a Permanent Emergency Operations Center in Santa Rosa was included in the Fiscal Year 2022 funding package released today by the Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security. Washington – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05), Chair of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures introduced the Charitable Conservation Easement Program Integrity Act, a bill designed to stop abuses of the conservation tax incentive designed to protect public lands. A companion Senate bill was introduced by Senators Daines and Stabenow.

Washington – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05), Chairman of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures, announced the introduction of the Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2021. This bill uses the tax code to offer relief to survivors of natural disasters and includes several pieces of disaster relief legislation he has previously introduced.

Washington – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) voted to pass H.R. 256, a bill to repeal the Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) Against Iraq Resolution of 2002. Thompson is a combat veteran and Co-Chair of the Military Veterans Caucus. He also voted against the original Authorization for the Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution in October 2002.
