Academy Nominations

Each year, Congressman Thompson nominates outstanding high school graduates from California's Fourth Congressional District for appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York; the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland; the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York.

Below are links to download the forms used by Congressman Thompson's office to evaluate applicants requesting a nomination to the academies. Please complete these forms or have them completed by others, as appropriate, and return them to Congressman Thompson's office.

All paperwork will be reviewed and, if qualified, the candidate will be scheduled for an interview before the Congressman's Academy Review Panel. Candidates will be notified in December if they have received a nomination. Nominees offered an appointment by an academy will be invited to attend an academy reception held in May, where they will be joined by their fellow incoming cadets for 2024.

High school seniors or unmarried high school graduates who are 22 years old or younger may request a nomination packet by submitting a letter of interest to my Santa Rosa District Office or calling (707) 542-7182.
