On Friday, several U.S. Representatives from Northern California called on the Brown Administration to withdraw and fully revise their proposed Bay Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP) in light of draft environmental documents being found “biased” and “insufficient” by federal agencies in public comments made available Thursday.
U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson recently announced a $126,364 grant award to help Clinic Ole in Napa enroll the uninsured in new health insurance options made available by the Affordable Care Act.
With the grant, Clinic Ole will help consumers understand coverage options in California's new Health Insurance Marketplace â€" Covered California. The grant will also allow the health center to help people determine their eligibility for Medi-Cal, the Children's Health Insurance Program and other forms of financial assistance.
I am pleased to announce that today I founded the bipartisan Congressional Invasive Species Caucus with my Republican colleague from Michigan, Rep. Dan Benishek. The Caucus will serve to raise awareness about invasive species issues, support local communities who are bearing the brunt of this problem, and promote efforts to prevent and control the spread of invasive species. The Caucus will provide opportunities for Members of Congress to meet with other policy makers, organizations and industry leaders that are working to prevent the spread of invasive species.
