WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Mike Thompson (D-St. Helena) announced the set of recommendations offered by the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force Thursday.

On Thursday Congressman Mike Thompson (CA-5), chair of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, announced the task force's comprehensive set of policy principles designed to reduce gun violence while respecting the Second Amendment Rights of law-abiding Americans.

U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson, D-St. Helena, on Thursday unveiled a package of reforms intended to prevent gun violence that calls for banning assault weapons and high capacity magazines, increased penalties for gun trafficking, and instituting background checks for every firearms purchase.
