At the request of Congressman Mike Thompson (D-Napa Valley), representatives from the United States Navy will hold public meetings regarding the Northwest Training Range Complex (NWTRC) on Wednesday, December 15th from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Wharfinger Building in Eureka, and on Thursday, December 16th   from 5:00-7:00 pm at Pentecost Hall at 822 Stewart Street in Fort Bragg.

At the request of Congressman Mike Thompson (D-North Coast), Dr. Jane Lubchenco, the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will hold a public meeting on Thursday, December 9 from 1:00-3:00 pm at the Mendocino Board of Supervisors Chambers in Ukiah.

Team Andrews Airmen from medical-related career fields reported to the Cannon House Office Building, Washington DC, in full service dress to meet with U.S. Congressman Mike Thompson Nov. 17.

The meeting was scheduled by Congressman Thompson after he sponsored a U.S. House of Representatives resolution that was passed on Sept. 28 honoring all Airmen who support and perform aeromedical evacuation. Part of House Resolution 1605 "commends the personnel of the Air Force for their commitment to the well-being of all our service men and women."

The export of electronic scrap continues to generate controversy in the eyes of many stakeholders, from electronics manufactures to corporate consumers of electronics to nongovernmental organizations to recyclers themselves. The lack of government oversight in this area has led some electronics recyclers to claim an uneven playing field, as some disreputable players ship nonworking units overseas under the pretext of re-use.
