Washington – Today House Ways and Means Select Revenue Measures Subcommittee Chairman Mike Thompson (CA-05) and 47 Members of Congress announced the introduction of Thompson's Growing Renewable Energy and Efficiency Now (GREEN) Act. This legislation, the principles of which were first unveiled last November, works to tackle the threat of climate change through the tax code.
Washington – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05), Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-18), and Rep. Jimmy Panetta (CA-20) wrote to FBI Director Chris Wray asking for further action to prevent violence by members of the so-called Boogaloo Boys and a report to Congress on any current or planned investigations into the group. Washington – Today Co-Chair of the Military Veterans Caucus Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) led a bipartisan group of 8 Members of the Military Veterans Caucus in a letter asking Secretary of Defense Mark Esper to develop a plan to rename military bases currently named after Confederate leaders. The letter was signed by Representatives Bobby L. Rush (IL-01), Ted W. Lieu (CA-33), Don Bacon (NE-02), Salud Carbajal (CA-24), Jimmy Panetta (CA-20), Conor Lamb (PA-17), Jason Crow (CO-06), and Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06).
Washington – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) announced that local judges have selected Allison Patrick from Alhambra High School in Contra Costa County as the 2020 Congressional Art Competition Grand Prize Winner. Washington – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) and Solano County Transit (SolTrans) announced a $2.6 million Federal Transit Administration grant to help with operation recovery and expand cleaning efforts on SolTrans route during the Coronavirus crisis. The grant was awarded through the CARES Act, legislation that passed Congress last month to help provide relief for families and communities hit hard by the pandemic.
