MEET MIKE

Mike Thompson represents California's 4th Congressional District. The district includes all of Napa and Lake Counties and parts of Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo Counties. He was first elected in 1998. Prior to serving in Congress, Rep. Thompson represented California's 2nd District in the California State Senate where he chaired the powerful Budget Committee.

He is a member of the powerful House Committee on Ways and Means.

Washington, D.C. -- Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) released the following statement in response to the House's passage of the Affordable Care Act premium tax credit extension:

"I voted YES on extending the Affordable Care Act enhanced premium tax credits because we need to lower health care costs. Democrats fought to bring this extension to the floor for months, and it was our pressure that forced 17 Congressional Republicans to work with us and pass this bill in the House today. I urge our Senate colleagues to pass this bill to protect health care.

Mike Thompson (CA-04) released the following statement marking 15 years since the shooting in Tucson, Arizona that targeted former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. Six people were killed and 14 others were injured, including Giffords.
