Kenwood Press - Local Q&A with Congressman Thompson
October 1, 2012
Congressman Mike Thompson (D-St. Helena) will be in Kenwood for a question and answer session on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 7-8:30 p.m. at the Kenwood Fire Station. The community is invited to come meet Thompson and ask him questions about issues that concern them.
Thompson has served in Congress since 1988, and prior to that served as a State Senator.
Due to redistricting, Thompson, assuming he is re-elected in November, will be representing all of Sonoma Valley in Congress for the first time. His newly drawn Fifth Congressional District also includes Napa, Solano, Contra Costa and Lake counties.
In the June primary, Thompson received 73 percent of the vote, and faces the second place finisher, Republican Randy Loftin (who received 15 percent) in the Nov. 6 election.
(Please note the Fire Department is a new location for this event than what was previously announced in the Sept. 15 issue.)
