Rep. Mike Thompson Issues Statement on Cinco de Mayo

Congressman Mike Thompson (D-CA) today issued the following statement on Cinco de Mayo, the annual celebration marking the historic triumph of the Mexican people over the French Army in the battle of Puebla in 1862:

“Cinco de Mayo is an important celebration of the rich cultural contributions of Mexican Americans here in the United States. Their music, art, language, and traditions have made communities across our nation stronger and more vibrant. I am proud to join millions of Americans in celebrating this important day, and will continue to fight to help all families achieve the American Dream."
