Thompson Named to Powerful Health and Select Revenue Subcommittees

Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA) issued the following statement upon the announcement of being selected to serve on the Health and Select Revenue Measures Subcommittees of the powerful Ways and Means Committee.
“I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Ways and Means Committee to green the tax code, protect family farms, and preserve American jobs,” said Congressman Thompson. “And, I am committed to increasing access to quality, affordable health care in rural areas and keeping Medicare strong for our seniors. Our nation faces great challenges, but I am determined to work with my Ways and Means colleagues from both sides of the aisle to create the best solutions for our district and our great country. ”
The Ways and Means Health Subcommittee has jurisdiction over matters related to Medicare and tax policies concerning health insurance premiums and health care costs. The Ways and Means Select Revenue Subcommittee has jurisdiction over federal tax policies and will play a key role in the upcoming tax reform debate.
