Thompson Releases Statement on Indictment of Former President Donald Trump

Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) released the following statement after the former president was indicted on four counts related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election and the subsequent insurrection on January 6, 2021.

“No one is above the Constitution. The indictment of the former president is an unprecedented but necessary step to move the legal process forward. January 6 was one of the darkest days of our democracy and those responsible must be held accountable. The legal process must be allowed to play out without interference.”
