Thompson Releases Statement on Indictment of Hunter Biden

Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) released the following statement after it was announced that Hunter Biden has been indicted on three charges by Special Counsel David Weiss.

“As Chair of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, I have long been supportive of a more aggressive enforcement of our nation’s gun safety laws, including false statements to acquire firearms. I have the utmost respect and confidence in the Department of Justice to carry out their responsibilities.

“Our justice system is founded on the principle of innocence until proven guilty. Every American is afforded the right to due process and Hunter Biden will be allowed to present evidence in the trial. The legal process must be allowed to play out without interference.”
