Napa, CA – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) visited the Napa County Sheriff's Department to hear firsthand how the Community Funded Project request made he made to the Appropriations Committee would boost public safety throughout the county. Thompson submitted a $1.8 million request for a Community Funded Project that would allow Napa County and local municipalities to upgrade public safety radio and communications equipment. This project would assist the Napa County Sheriff's Office, the City of Napa Police Department, the City of St.

Santa Rosa, CA – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) and the City of Santa Rosa announced $33,988,033.19 in Federal funding through the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program to fulfill other unmet fire recovery needs, such as rebuilding the Fire Station. The station burned in the tragic 2017 Tubbs Fire and Thompson presented a ceremonial check for this Federal funding to city officials today.

Washington – Today Gun Violence Prevention Task Force Chairman Mike Thompson (CA-05) and Members of the Task Force wrote to both the Chair and Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Minority Leader McConnell expressing strong support for David Chipman to be confirmed as Director of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). They noted his strong record of advocacy to help prevent gun violence and the urgency of the issue, as ATF has gone the last six years without a Senate-confirmed director.
