Student Leadership Council
Congressman Mike Thompson has launched a Congressional Student Leadership Council, an exciting program that allows local students to work directly with Mike and his staff to develop leadership skills, get to know how government works, and engage with our community first hand. The Council is open to all high school students in California's Fifth Congressional District.
Applicants should be passionate about helping their community and eager to learn more about Federal, state and local government. This is a commitment where students will be expected to meet online once a week on Wednesday evenings during the Fall semester and conduct a community project, such as designing a Virtual Town Hall during the Spring semester. This year’s virtual Student Leadership Council will bring together students from each of the five counties Congressman Thompson represents, including Contra Costa, Lake, Napa, Solano and Sonoma Counties.
Interested students can submit their application by filling out this form and emailing it to Thompson's office. Students can then send the application to firstname.lastname@example.org using Microsoft Word, or PDF file format. Pages and GoogleDocs will not be readable.
The deadline for the 2021 Council is Wednesday, September 22, 2021. If you have questions, please contact Rebecca Roberts by calling 707-645-1888 or by emailing Rebecca.Roberts@mail.house.gov.
