Tsunami E-Newsletter
March 11, 2011
Dear Friend,
As I'm sure you know, coastal Northern California is under a tsunami warning following a massive earthquake that struck off northeastern Japan. Varying current changes and wave conditions could pose a danger to coastal community residents and beach goers.
The California Emergency Management Agency is continuing to monitor the current tsunami situation. Please visit Calema.ca.gov for up-to-the-minute updates and resources, as well as tips on what you can do to keep yourself safe.
I encourage our communities to remain vigilant, to heed all warnings and instructions from emergency personnel, and to take every precaution to ensure their safety. Officials from federal, state, and local agencies are prepared to offer any assistance necessary, and we will work with all levels of government to respond effectively as the tsunami reaches our shores.
Sincerely,
Mike Thompson
