Thompson Releases Statement after Receiving Classified Briefing on Israel

Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) received a classified briefing on the ongoing crisis in Israel. After the briefing, he released the following statement.

“The classified briefing I received this morning on the situation in Israel was incredibly troubling. Hamas is committing horrific and purely evil war crimes, and they must be stopped. The United States is working overtime to get all Americans currently in the region that want to come home back to our country. Our bipartisan House Resolution is appreciated by Israel and has over 400 cosponsors — and I am proud to be one of them. We must provide Israel with all of the support they need during this critical time.”

The lawmakers were briefed by Victoria Nuland, Acting Deputy Secretary of State, U.S. Department of State, Sasha Baker, Acting Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, U.S. Department of Defense, and Morgan Muir, Deputy Director for Mission Integration, Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
