Today Congressman Mike Thompson (D-CA) was joined by 29 other members of Congress in introducing legislation to protect clean energy initiatives that are important to homeowners in California and the rest of the country. The "PACE Assessment Protection Act of 2010" would order lenders to adopt standards that support Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) programs, rather than stymie green energy efforts.
Rep. Wally Herger wants to junk the new federal health care law, saying small businesses are under siege and "looming devastation" awaits the economy.
Rep. Dan Lungren opts for a more incremental approach, proposing to scrap some reporting requirements for small businesses contained in the law.

The commission, which was established by executive order and based on legislation introduced in the House in early May, will investigate the causes of the devastating oil spill and report back to the president with recommendations for how to prevent and mitigate the impact of any future spills that result from offshore drilling.
As summer starts, and we spend more time outside, we gain an even greater awareness of the wonderful things that the outdoors contribute to our lives. I feel strongly that we need to preserve every appropriate open space that we can, so that our children and grandchildren can enjoy the same vistas, clean air and clean water that we have today. That's what drives me to work for land conservation and open space preservation in Congress.
The bill would allow family farms and ranches to pass down their land and farms, which is meant to preserve California's strong agricultural heritage.
