Washington – On Friday, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) introduced the America's Conservation Enhancement (ACE) Reauthorization Act of 2024 alongside Rep. Rob Wittman (VA-01), Rep. Debbie Dingell (MI-06) and Rep. Jen Kiggans (VA-02). This comprehensive legislation will enhance the preservation of America's natural resources, wildlife, and habitats.
Washington – Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) co-sponsored and Reps. Josh Harder (CA-09), Scott Franklin (FL-18) and Joe Neguse (CO-02) have introduced a first-of-its-kind bill to modernize how the United States combats the wildfire crisis. This landmark bill will be the first time the federal government has taken an all-the-above approach to dealing with the wildfire crisis by modernizing existing fire prevention efforts and responding directly to the needs of firefighters, wildfire experts, and public health officials.
Rio Vista – Yesterday, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) presented a check to the City of Rio Vista for $959,752 to support the city’s Wastewater Plant Consolidation and Reclaimed Water Project. The funding will aid in the construction of piping infrastructure to connect the Northwest Wastewater Treatment Plant to existing recycled water distribution system pipelines. Rep. Thompson helped secure this funding through the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024.
Rohnert Park – On Sunday, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) and Assembly Majority Leader Cecilia Aguiar-Curry recognized the 2024 Student Leadership Council graduates at an end-of-year town hall ceremony hosted at Sonoma State University. The event featured special guest speakers and a panel discussion on the issue of climate change. Rep. Thompson presented graduating students with certificates marking their achievement serving on the Council.

This competition is intended to encourage all students through eighth grade to read books and continue stimulating their minds during their summer vacation.
