Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) announced he voted to pass the Water Resources Development Act of 2024 (WRDA), bipartisan legislation that will authorize the Army Corp of Engineers to make crucial investments in America's ports, inland waterways, flood management systems, ecosystems, and other water resources infrastructure.

Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04), Rep. David Schweikert (AZ-01), Rep. Doris Matsui (CA-07), Rep. Troy Balderson (OH-12) and Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI) announced they led a letter signed by 100 Members of Congress and Senators to House and Senate leadership urging them to extend telehealth coverage benefits so that all Medicare beneficiaries retain access to these services. Without an extension by December 31st, seniors on Medicare would lose access to critical telehealth services.

Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA-04) and Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) announced the Senate’s unanimous vote to pass the bipartisan Federal Disaster Tax Relief Act (H.R. 5863). The bill includes Rep. Thompson’s legislation that will exempt thousands of qualified wildfire victims in California from having to pay federal income tax on their settlement money or pay tax on attorney fees included in the settlement.

This comprehensive legislation will enhance the preservation of America's natural resources, wildlife, and habitats. Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) announced he voted to pass H.R. 82, the bipartisan Social Security Fairness Act, which repeals the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO) rules impacting the earned benefits of many retired public servants like teachers, police officers, firefighters, emergency services personnel, other first responders, and federal, state, and local employees who worked in both covered and non-covered jobs during their careers.
