Woodland, CA – On Monday, just days ahead of the Social Security Act’s 91st anniversary, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) was joined by special guest, former Commissioner for the Social Security Administration and former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, and President of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare Max Richtman for a town hall at the Woodland Community and Senior Center.

Jimmy Panetta (D-CA-19), Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA), and Senator Adam Schiff’s (D-CA) Doug LaMalfa Federal Disaster Tax Relief Certainty Act (H.R. 5366) to ensure wildfire survivors are not taxed on compensation they receive for losses and damages suffered during a federally declared wildfire disaster before January 1, 2027.

Thompson and Gallagher worked with local leaders in April to secure up to $9 million in federal funding for the removal project.
