January 21, 2021

Washington – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) and Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Board of Directors Supervisor Brad Wagenknecht and Napa Mayor Scott Sedgley announced that the Napa River Flood Project has received $48.3 million in funding from the Army Corps of Engineering Fiscal Year 2021 Work Plan to complete the Napa River Flood Project. Thompson has long worked to bring back Federal resources to complete the project, including months of conversations with the committees of jurisdiction.

Rodney Davis (IL-13) joined Chef José Andrés, his World Central Kitchen and Share Our Strength to introduce the FEMA Empowering Essential Deliveries (FEED) Act. This bipartisan legislation boosts the Federal government cost share to state and local governments to 100 percent so that they can partner with restaurants and nonprofits to prepare nutritious meals for vulnerable individuals.

Washington – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) released the following statement after voting to pass H. Res. 21, a resolution urging the Vice President to invoke the 25th Amendment, gather the Cabinet and remove the President from office. This comes after the President's actions that incited last week's attack on the United States Capitol and attempted to interfere with the Constitutional process of certifying the 2020 Presidential Election results. Washington – Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05), along with original co-authors Representatives Jimmy Panetta (CA-20), Peter DeFazio (OR-04), Barbara Lee (CA-13), and Dan Newhouse (WA-04), announced the introduction of the WHIP+ Reauthorization Act. These Members represent states up and down the West Coast that were hit hard by fires in 2020 and they introduce this bill to reactivate the Wildfire and Hurricane Indemnity Program Plus (WHIP+) for all 2020 natural disasters.
